The Easter markets (Velikonoční trhy) in Prague’s Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square will open on Saturday, April 5, running for three weeks until Sunday, April 27.
The markets will feature traditional folklore decorations, with stalls selling seasonal and Easter-themed goods. A daily cultural program will take place on stage, offering entertainment for visitors.
A decorated birch tree will once again serve as the centerpiece in Old Town Square, a key attraction for locals and tourists alike.
Following changes made during last year’s Christmas markets, the event will continue using modernized stalls with lowered roofs—now about half a meter shorter—to provide a clearer view of the square.
Additionally, organizers have replaced plastic materials with a more eco-friendly combination of metal and canvas.
Visitors will enjoy popular gingerbread, pancakes, Czech sausages, stuffed dumplings, potato pancakes and roasted almonds.
