Tongue-in-cheek comments posted on the police force’s Facebook page expressed sadness at the loss of the alcohol.
Police in the Czech Republic said hundreds of bottles of Pilsner Urquell beer were the only casualties when a truck lost its load on the D1 highway near Benes.
The accident occurred due to a driver error. He got stuck at the crossroads, turned the wrong way, and stepped too steeply into the corner from which the trailer fell to its side.
Fortunately, the man got off with light injuries and taken to the hospital for a preventive examination. The extent of the damage has not yet been determined.
Police said it took about five hours to clean up the mess.
