At last, one of Prague’s most popular events is just around the corner! On September 7th & 8th you can enter the burger utopia, located at Prague’s Výstaviště Holešovice. The eighth edition of the very successful festival has various events planned to satisfy all visitors.
As previously, Burgerfest’s general partner is Jack Daniel’s meaning there will be a food truck waiting to serve you all the whiskey you desire. There will also be craft beer available.
The biggest event of the weekend is the Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest host KCBS, Kansas City Barbeque Society, BBQ contest, where registered teams will be able to battle it out to see who can create the best BBQ dish. However, as burgers still remain the main attraction, the BBQ dishes will only start selling on Saturday evening.
The famous teams from Hungary, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, and the Czech Republic won’t be missing from the competitions either. Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest also has the support of the American Embassy, so listen out for the American hymn!
Of course, visitors will be able to vote for their favorite burgers and restaurants. This year the voting will be through the Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest website with the allowance of one vote per day. The competitions will also be live-streamed so people who won’t be able to join us at Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest, will at least be able to watch the suspense of the competitions at home. Certain moments will also be streamed through Facebook; such as the cooking shows and the big opening ceremony.
There’s a great lineup put together staring the Czech Eurovision star group Lake Malawi to brighten the atmosphere. The opening ceremony will be started by the famous baby punk rock band Kašpárek V Rohlíku. One special guest is specially prepared for all the foodies; Ted Reader, BBQ guru from Toronto, Canada. In 2010, Reader attempted to set a world record for the largest hamburger. He grilled a 268-kilogram burger in downtown Toronto as part of a promotional tour for his cookbook.
The overall theme falls right into the trend of the year, along the lines of ‘Game of Burgers’ but don’t worry, we won’t spoil anything!
Additionally, Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest is supporting the environment with reusable cups being used throughout the whole festival.
There will be various workshops ranging from kids’ workshops to get your kids involved in cooking, to Antonio Manieri who will be providing a mozzarella workshop.
The entrance presale fee to enter Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest is 100/150. The entrance fee profits will go to charity to support Charity Women for Women. This year Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest has family tickets as well.
People wait for the internationally known Jack Daniel’s Burgerfest every year, it’s definitely a festival every meat eater would enjoy, so, enjoy!
