
The objective of International Museum Day is to raise awareness of the fact that, “Museums are an important means of cultural exchange, enrichment of cultures and development of mutual understanding, cooperation and peace among peoples.”
The theme chosen for 2018 is “Hyperconnected museums: New approaches, new publics“. The aim ist to point on the way how museum use new technologies and options how they can use them in order to attract new visitors.
There will be free admission and special programs at the Sternberg Palace, Schwarzenberg Palace, the Monastery of St. Agnes Czech, the Trade Fair Palace, Kinský Palace and Wallenstein Riding School.
Other museums with special programs include Náprstkovo Museum, Czech Museum of Music, Lapidary, the Museum of Antonin Dvorak, Bedrich Smetana Museum, National Monument on Vítkov and the Ethnographic Museum – Musaion.
The list of them will be published before the event on this website.
