May 31: World Premiere of Baron Munchausen Play in Prague

A play about Baron Münchhausen is coming to Prague!

The Mad and Merry Men, renowned for their captivating productions, present a world premiere: Baron Munchausen Between the Stars. This hilarious and visually stunning play transports you on the Baron’s extraordinary adventures, from a quaint German village to the moon itself.

Immerse yourself in a vibrant spectacle featuring a live orchestra, opera singers, and captivating backdrops. Encounter legendary figures like the alchemist Hermes Trismegistos and the knight Don Quixote, and journey across the globe with the fairy king Map.

The production celebrates the timeless magic of storytelling, reminding us of its power to unite people across cultures and generations. Witness the Baron rediscover the essence of storytelling – the very thread that binds humanity together.

The play will be performed in historical costumes and accompanied by a chamber orchestra and opera singers. It will be the world’s first stage adaptation of the recently republished second original volume of the original Münchhausen stories by R.E. Raspe.

Presented in English, is set to highlight the importance of the Character of Münchhausen for both Czech and German Culture, Münchhausen as central Literature in the Age of Enlightenment, and of Legends and Lore as the carrier of Wisdom and History all around the World.
