  • According to Median’s November election model, economist Danuše Nerudová would come in first in the presidential race with 28 % of the vote. ANO chair Andrej Babiš would receive 26.5 % and retired general Petr Pavel 23.5 %.

 

  • Entrepreneurs will no longer have to pay royalties for music playing on the radio as a soundtrack in their shop or restaurant. President Miloš Zeman has signed an amendment to the Copyright Act, which will bring about the change, despite objections from copyright administrators and producers in the audiovisual industry

 

  • Year-on-year inflation appears to have accelerated by several tenths of a percentage point in November, from 15.1 percent in October, according to analysts cited by the ctk news agency.

 

  • Speaker of the Czech Republic’s Chamber of Deputies, Marketa Pekarova Adamova, revealed her plans to lead a delegation to Taiwan in March. Adamova said the delegation would include Czech businesspeople, adding that the Czech government is committed to maintaining long-established partnerships.

 

  • Flights to Greece and Turkey will begin in August 2023 from České Budějovice Airport. This was confirmed by the Governor of the South Bohemian Region, Martin Kuba (ODS), and the CEO of the Čedok travel agency Stanislav Zeman.
