A New Bus Line to Prague Airport Could Launch This Autumn

A new private bus service could soon connect Prague’s main railway station directly with Václav Havel Airport, offering passengers another option for getting between the city center and the airport.

Transport company Dinarica is planning to launch the service at the end of October. The route would run between the main railway station and the airport, providing a direct alternative to the Airport Express operated by České dráhy.

The company says it wants to address one of the main practical problems passengers face when travelling by bus to the airport — luggage storage.

Dinarica plans to use Setra and MAN buses equipped with air conditioning, seat belts and more spacious seating. Each vehicle will accommodate between 70 and 90 passengers.

The planned service would operate from morning until evening, with buses running approximately every two hours.

A one-way ticket is expected to cost around CZK 125, making the service considerably cheaper than the Airport Express. Its fare is set to rise to CZK 200 following the latest price increase.

Prague’s public transport system already offers cheaper ways to reach the airport. Trolleybus 59 and bus 100 connect Václav Havel Airport with the Prague public transport network, but neither provides a direct connection to the main railway station.

Both services are primarily designed as part of the regular city transport system.

If approved and launched as planned, the Dinarica service would give passengers another direct option between Prague’s main railway station and the airport, with a lower fare than the Airport Express.
