One person was burnt to death and 10 others were injured, including two in severe condition, in a traffic accident on the D1 motorway from Prague to Brno on Sunday evening, according to local media reports.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Five cars and a tank truck crashed on the D1 highway. The truck overturned across both lines of the motorway and went ablaze. Four cars were burnt down.
A police officer directing traffic away from the scene was also injured by passing driver. He was helicoptered to a Prague hospital.
The fire has been put out and the motorway has been closed in both directions. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
The side of the D1 highway was still blocked early on Monday.
