Over 45,000 People Attended United Islands of Prague This Year

United Islands of Prague Festival transformed Prague’s islands and several clubs into a vibrant hub of music and cultural exchange, drawing over 45,000 visitors across four days.

More than 100 artists from Europe took to 23 stages across Střelecký ostrov, Slovanský ostrov, Náměstí Václava Havla, Janáček Embankment, and various venues.

This year, the main stage held a special location on the Vltava River, offering a stunning view from the Charles Bridge.

The festival’s opening day celebrated European unity, with President Petr Pavel, Vice-President of the European Commission Věra Jourová, and representatives from the government gathering to mark the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic’s EU membership.

On the second day, the “Symphony for Humanity” concert, delivered a powerful message against xenophobia and prejudice, demonstrating Prague’s commitment to inclusivity.

Among the festival’s highlights were performances by British singer-songwriter AJ Wonder, Hungarian band Freakin’ Disco, Austrian group Dives, Slovenian pop-rockers LPS, German act Lonely Spring, Polish artist Baasch, Faroese Islanders Joe & The Shitboys, Angel Award winner MC Gey, and Czech rapper Rohony.

Local talent also shone, with Good Times Only, Glad For Today, Severa, Jay Delver, and Cringe Prince taking the stage.

“We’ve successfully refreshed the festival’s lineup,” said festival producer Martin Voňka. “Collaborating with Klubovna, we provided a platform for young talent from Europe. I was particularly impressed by the Slovenian band LPS, MC Gey’s performance, and the electrifying atmosphere during the Symphony for Humanity concert with Ben Cristovao, Sofian Medjmedj, and the Unique Orchestra.”

“Twenty years after joining the EU, we believe it’s crucial to commemorate this milestone annually,” added co-producer David Gaydečka. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated in the Symphony for Humanity concert. United Islands of Prague has undoubtedly solidified its place as a major cultural event in Prague.”

Mark your calendars: the 22nd edition of the United Islands of Prague Festival will take place from May 1 to 3, 2025!
