Prague Gets Direct Connection to Uzbekistan

Easier travel to explore Central Asia and Uzbekistan: all this is to be possible thanks to a new regular direct connection from Prague to Tashkent offered by Qanot Sharq Airlines from 18 April 2024.

Flights to the capital of Uzbekistan will be operated once a week, every Thursday. Tickets can be bought on the airline’s website qanotsharq.com.

Jaroslav Filip, Prague Airport Aviation Business Director, confirmed that the connection with Uzbekistan was among this year’s priorities. “In 2019, before the Covid-19 pandemic, almost 70 thousand tourists from Central Asian countries visited the Czech Republic. We expect more than 15,000 passengers to use this new route in its first year of operation.”

Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, impresses with its modern appearance, where skyscrapers, modern shopping centers and cultural attractions are concentrated.

Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, with their majestic architecture and ancient history, provide a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in long-standing traditions.

The Republic of Karakalpakstan, part of Uzbekistan, attracts tourists with its unique museum named after I. Savitsky and the opportunity to see the former Aral Sea.

Qanot Sharq Airlines, founded in 1998, has been organizing cargo and passenger air transportation over the years.

In 2021, after the abolition of the monopoly in the aviation system of Uzbekistan, the company got aircrafts, and currently there are 6 modern aircrafts in the Qanot Sharq fleet: 2 Airbus A320CEO, 2 Airbus A321NEO and 2 Airbus A330CEO.

Qanot Sharq airline operates flights to cities such as Jeddah, Medina, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Phuket, Phu Quoc, Cam Ranh, Tel Aviv, Istanbul and Sharm el-Sheikh, and plans to expand flights, including destinations – Bangkok, island Bali, Kuala Lumpur, Madrid, Milan, Paris, Sanya, Seoul and Shanghai.
