Prague Botanical Garden to Host Grape Harvest Festival

The Prague Botanical Garden will host its traditional grape harvest festival at St. Clare’s Vineyard on September 12 and 13, bringing two days of wine, fresh burčák, live music and activities for visitors.

The festival, known as Vinobraní na Vinici sv. Kláry, will feature wines from producers across the Czech Republic, Moravia and other countries.

Visitors will also have the chance to taste white and red burčák made from grapes harvested this year at St. Clare’s Vineyard.

The first grapes for the festival have already been picked by hand. Workers harvested 2,700 kilograms of table grapes and the Modrý Portugal variety. The grapes are now being used to produce this year’s burčák, a young wine that is still undergoing fermentation and is traditionally associated with the Czech grape harvest season.

Alongside wines from the St. Clare’s winery, the festival will present a selection of wines from other producers from the Czech Republic, Moravia and abroad.

Two days of live music

Music will be a major part of the weekend program. Saturday’s main stage lineup includes Jordan Haj and Emma Smetana, YES BROTHERS and 20 MINUTES.

On Sunday, visitors can see the Děda Mládek Illegal Band, BRASS AVENUE, MOVEBREAKERS and OFF BEAT ORCHESTRA. A second music stage will also operate near the St. Clare’s wine shop.

The festival program includes more than music and wine. Visitors can join guided tours of the vineyard, take part in workshops and creative activities, or attend the Vínohrátky educational program. The guided tours are included in the admission price.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on both September 12 and 13. Activities will take place at St. Clare’s Vineyard and in the Ornamental Garden of the Prague Botanical Garden.

Tickets bought at the venue cost CZK 280 for adults and CZK 180 for children and young people aged 3 to 17.

Online tickets purchased by September 11 are CZK 250 for adults and CZK 150 for children and young people. Children under three can enter free of charge.
