After a year-long hiatus, Prague will once again have a direct air connection to Bordeaux, France.
Low-cost airline easyJet will introduce the new route, with the first flight scheduled for October 27.
The flights will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, using an Airbus A320 with a capacity of 186 passengers. Prague Airport is promoting the route as a gateway to France’s renowned wine region, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Flights from Bordeaux to Prague will depart on Mondays at 10:50 AM and Fridays at 12:50 PM.
The return flights from Prague to Bordeaux are scheduled for Mondays at 1:40 PM and Fridays at 3:40 PM. Tickets are already available on easyJet’s website, with one-way fares starting at CZK 759.
The last airline to operate this route was Ryanair, which discontinued flights between Prague and Bordeaux in autumn 2023 when it removed Bordeaux from its network.
What to See and Do in Bordeaux
Bordeaux, often called the “wine capital of the world,” is a city rich in history, culture, and gastronomy. Whether you’re a wine lover, history buff, or simply looking to enjoy the charm of southwestern France, there’s plenty to explore.
One of the city’s highlights is the Place de la Bourse, an elegant square known for its stunning 18th-century architecture and the Miroir d’Eau, the world’s largest reflecting pool. Strolling along the Garonne River, you’ll find lively cafés and scenic walking paths perfect for soaking in the city’s atmosphere.
For wine enthusiasts, a visit to the Cité du Vin is a must. This interactive wine museum offers tastings and insights into Bordeaux’s legendary vineyards. Speaking of vineyards, a short trip to the Médoc or Saint-Émilion wine regions allows visitors to tour some of the finest wineries in France.
History lovers will appreciate the Grosse Cloche, a medieval gate, and the Basilica of Saint-Michel, a UNESCO-listed Gothic church with breathtaking views from its bell tower.
For shopping and dining, head to Rue Sainte-Catherine, one of Europe’s longest pedestrian streets, packed with boutiques and restaurants serving local specialties like canelés and fresh oysters.
