Prague’s Grand Easter Markets Unveiled: Dates and Info

The dates for Prague’s biggest Easter markets have been announced, promising visitors a immersion in local tradition.

The markets offer a treasure trove of holiday-themed merchandise, traditional food and drinks, and a rich cultural program featuring folk music concerts, children’s workshops, and artisan masterclasses.

Old Town Square 

The markets come alive from March 16th to April 7th, daily from 10:00 to 22:00. A birch tree adorned with colorful ribbons stands tall as a centerpiece, while the observation bridge, decorated with flowers and animal drawings, offers stunning panoramic views.

The schedule includes music and dance performances, old arts and crafts demonstrations, decorating Easter eggs, and making candles. Younger visitors will have lots of fun in the children´s workshop in Old Town Square where they can try some of the crafts themselves.

Wenceslas Square

Operating on the same schedule as the Old Town market, this market boasts a similar assortment and design, reflecting the shared organizer. Every day the markets are visited by 10,000 people looking for some great shopping as well as entertaining cultural programs.

Markets here are taking place from March 16th until April 7 from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Náměstí Míru

This market welcomes visitors from March 16th to April 1st, daily from 10:00 to 19:00. With a different organizer behind the scenes, expect unique decorations and a distinct range of goods, adding variety to your festive exploration.

Food lovers can taste meat skewers, steaks, grilled sausages, homemade cheese, gingerbread, marzipan, Czech Easter specialties such as mazance (Easter sweet bread), and more.

Náměstí Republiky (opening date to be announced)

Easter market at Náměstí Republiky brings an amazing Easter atmosphere to the historic center of Prague. Wooden stands in the area in front of the Palladium Shopping Mall feature traditional Easter products made by Czech craftsmen along with a wide selection of gastronomic specialties and hot and cold drinks.

Prague Castle (opening date to be announced)

Easter market at Prague Castle is held at St. George´s Square. The marketplace offers demonstrations of traditional crafts: painting of Easter Eggs, Easter whip braiding, or spinning of woolen yarns. Enjoy specialty food, live concerts and dancing of folk groups in traditional costumes.

Anděl (opening date to be announced)

Easter market at pedestrian zone Anděl offers handcrafted products, such as Easter whips, floral or wooden decorations, hand-painted eggs, tablecloths, pottery and jewelry, as well as traditional goodies including Easter lamb cakes, gingerbread, or marzipan.
