The Mattoni Usti nad Labem Half Marathon is one of four events in the RunCzech Running League which take place outside of Prague.
Each one has developed greatly in terms of both elite and mass participation and the Mattoni Usti nad Labem event has been awarded the distinction of an IAAF Silver Label Road Race.
The course leads alongside the river Elbe opening a view to impressive rock formations, Strekov castle and then crossing the area of a chemical factory which is a perfect example of industrial architecture of the First Republic.
In 2013, it was awarded IAAF Silver Label Road Race status.
During this edition, masks will be mandatory to wear during the pick-up of start numbers, in the technical area and in the start and finish corridor. There will not be any showers or taping zone in the technical area (lockers and depository will remain, but the number of people will be limited).
TOP 3 must-see in Usti nad Labem
- Ancient city: The region has been already recognized in the era of the Roman Empire and today you can experience a unique combination of industry & history.
- Castle blast: the ruins of Strekov castle above the river Elbe is a truly romantic sight and the Chateau Vetruse offers the best views of the city’s surroundings. Just get on the cable car and enjoy a nice Czech dish looking over the mountains.
- Czech – Saxon Switzerland: yes, you don’t have to travel that far away to hike in one of the most beautiful national parks of Europe! The spectacular landscapes highlight the Bastei Bridge, a dramatic-looking rock formation.
