Slavia Prague to Face Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Porto in Champions League

Slavia Prague have learned their eight opponents for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase following Thursday’s draw in Monaco.
Slavia will play four matches at home at Eden Arena and four away.
At home, Slavia will welcome Arsenal, Aston Villa, Villarreal and Lens. Their away fixtures will take them to Bayern Munich, Porto, Fenerbahçe and Sabah Baku in Azerbaijan.
The most high-profile home fixture will be against Arsenal, the reigning Premier League champions. Slavia also faced the London club in last season’s Champions League campaign, making the return meeting at Eden Arena particularly notable.
The toughest away assignment is likely to come in Munich, where Slavia will face six-time European champions Bayern at the Allianz Arena. The team will also travel to Portugal to meet Porto and to Istanbul for a match against Fenerbahçe.
The longest trip of the league phase will be to Baku to face Azerbaijani champions Sabah, who are making their debut in the Champions League league phase.
How the Champions League league phase works
The 2026/27 competition is being played under UEFA’s new league-phase format for the third consecutive season. Instead of a traditional group stage, all 36 teams are placed in one league table.
Each club plays eight matches against eight different opponents, with two opponents drawn from each of the four seeding pots. Every team has four home and four away games.
The top eight teams in the final standings will advance directly to the round of 16. Teams finishing ninth to 24th will enter a knockout playoff for the remaining eight places, while clubs finishing from 25th to 36th will be eliminated.
The league phase begins on September 8–10, with six rounds taking place before the end of 2026. The final two matchdays will be played in January, with the league phase concluding on January 27. UEFA will announce the exact dates and kick-off times for each individual match later.
