Prague is home to a vibrant food scene with restaurants that serve cuisine from all over the globe. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been scouring the best Thai cuisine in the city, part of Thai Select network.
Thai Station, is a family restaurant that presents Thai cuisine in its original form. The restaurant is managed by Onwasa Kongpetch, a Thai native who has run several family enterprises in Bangkok.
She offers a carefully thought-out concept of Thai cuisine in a modern setting.
Onwasa worked for Thailand’s most famous chef, McDang, who focused primarily on popularizing the street food concept and the authenticity of Thai cuisine abroad.
In 2015, Onwasa participated in the preparation of the popular television program Talon Chim – traveling for gastronomic experiences.
Thai Station is situated in a great location in the historical center of Prague next to Uhelný trh (Coal Market). The owner Rujalux Kongpetch Nešpůrková created the design of the entire premises.
Hailing from Bangkok, she obtained her Master of Arts degree from the University of Central England in Birmingham. She then continued her studies in Australia, where she met her husband, Petr Nešpůrek, who has been a great support to her in creating the concept of the bistro.
“In our cozy modern bistro, we want to provide guests with an authentic experience just like in Thailand – atmosphere, food, and service. I dreamt of opening my own bistro for a few years and am excited that now the dream has come true. I firmly believe that everyone will enjoy a visit to our bistro,” comments owner Rujalux Kongpetch Nešpůrková.
What do we personally recommend at Thai Station? Be sure to try Kanom Jeen Nam Ya for two persons: rice noodles with tuna curry, served with fresh vegetables and herbs.
Thai Station offers a 10% discount for food from Monday, August 10 until August 24. How to get a 10% discount? You just need to tell the CODE “ThaiSelect” at the staff restaurant.
