World music stars, podcast festival, courageous accompanying programme for the whole family, strengthened public transport, maximum comfort.
This year’s 6th Metronome Prague is poised to be the most successful edition ever.
From 21 to 24 June, seven stages will occupy 25 acres of the Prague Exhibition Grounds, with 80 performances by over 300 acts – including big names both from the international and Czech music scene, such as Jamiroquai, ZAZ, Moderat, Aurora, M83, Editors, Tove Lo, J.I.D, White Lies, Kelvyn Colt, Frosti, Jana Kirschner, Zrní, Midi Lidi, Supercrooo, PSH and others.
The organizers expect 25,000 attendees, for whom they have fine-tuned the service, gastronomy, background and accompanying activities to the last detail.
This includes a special escape game on the premises, food trucks full of local and exotic specialties, Pilsner Urquell and craft beers from the Proud Brewery and Vinohrady Brewery on tap, as well as wines from Moravia, Spain and France.
“The best-prepared edition in some time, which will run as we originally wished. Some who were not originally on the programme are heading to Prague. James Harries will be joined by fresh Grammy-winning bassist Mark Haynes of Snarky Puppy. The audience will be surprised by a string performance of the Eve Quartet. On the eve of the main concerts, on Wednesday 21 June, David Koller and his band will open the festival, and the Ukrainian women’s symphony Queens Orchestra is coming to visit us from Poland,” says Metronome Prague co-organiser David Gaydečka.
PODCAST FESTIVAL / KIDS ZONE / accompanying programme
Metronome Prague will be not only about great music. The sixth edition of the Metronome Fair is decorated with an attractive accompanying programme, the theme of which this year is COURAGE.
A big novelty are the podcasts recorded live with the audience directly from Metronome Prague by the most famous creators and presenters, such as Čestmír Strakatý with Prostor X, Pastoral Brothers, Dobrovský & Šídlo, We Children with Courage, etc.
Children and teenagers are invited to the “Pukec” zone with dance and art workshops, skatepark and pump track, photo corner, theatre, observation wheel and various other entertainment (glitters, temporary tattoos, computer and board games, etc.)
GASTRO / CHILLOUT zones
There will be 550 yards of bars and food stands and trucks with a really varied selection of Colombian specialties, Indian street food, Indonesian dishes, delicacies from Provence, cono pizzas, burgers, tortillas, fries, hot dogs…. dishes with meat, vegetarian, vegan, salty and sweet.
Cashless payments by card, mobile phone or watch will be possible on the premises. Returnable cups and eco-friendly utensils are already commonplace. Ceramic toilets with running water, including hot water, will be available everywhere.
