Czech Republic Ranks 13th in Global Sexual Liberal Index

The Czech Republic is among the world’s most “sexually liberal” countries, according to World Population Review. The study considered the average number of sexual partners, age of first sexual experience, prevalence of STIs, and public attitudes toward premarital sex and legalized prostitution. Australia topped the ranking, followed by Brazil, Greece, Chile, and New Zealand. Indonesia, China, and India were identified as the most conservative countries.

Flu and Respiratory Infections Surge in Czech Republic

The influenza and other respiratory infection epidemic is intensifying, with cases rising 14% over the past week to 1,456 per 100,000 residents. Doctors report a second wave among children and adolescents, who can spread infections to older family members.

Globus Launches Full Online Grocery Delivery in Prague

Globus is introducing a full-scale online grocery delivery service in Prague, targeting large family orders with a minimum purchase of 1,000 CZK and a delivery fee. Logistics will be handled by the third-party company DODO. The service is set to expand to Ostrava and parts of the Central Bohemian Region this spring.

Czech Republic Drops to 55th in Global Military Power Rankings

In the early 2026 Global Firepower rankings, the Czech Republic fell two places to 55th. The top five militaries are the United States, Russia, China, India, and South Korea. Rankings considered troop numbers, defense budgets, equipment, industrial capacity, geography, nuclear capabilities, and military alliances. Among post-Soviet nations, Ukraine ranked 20th, Uzbekistan 53rd, Kazakhstan 58th, Azerbaijan 60th, Belarus 70th, Tajikistan 100th, Armenia 101st, Kyrgyzstan 109th, and Moldova 136th.

National Gallery to Mark 230th Anniversary with Two Major Exhibitions

One exhibition will focus on 90 years of Czech surrealism, while the other will explore the life and legacy of Queen Anna Jagiellon, who ruled around 500 years ago.Fewer exhibitions will be held in Prague than in previous years, as the gallery can invest only a fraction of its usual budget.
