  • The refugees from Ukraine who would gain the special visa might be permitted to work in the Czech Republic without a work permit, and they might also have access to retraining courses.

 

  • TOP 09 former lower house member Dominik Feri, whom several women accused in the media of sexual assault and harassment last year, faces the police accusation of rape. Prague Metropolitan Public Prosecutor’s Office spokesman confirmed that the police launched criminal prosecution of one person over rape on Monday.

 

  • The Czech Republic and other countries that accept refugees from Ukraine will be able to request finances from a special fund of the United States. There will be 6.4 billion US dollars in the fund of aid to Ukraine in total.

 

  • Former Czech prime minister Andrej Babiš placed first in the Median agency’s March poll of prospective presidential candidates to replace Miloš Zeman when the latter’s mandate runs out next year. 26% of respondents said that they would vote for Babiš.

 

  • The Ministry of Health will propose that the wearing of respirators only be compulsory in public transport and when visiting social and medical services from March 14.
