The centenary of Czechoslovakia’s foundation will culminate with a number of public events, exhibitions, concerts, a military parade and a firework in Prague at the weekend of October 27-28, organisers told journalists today.

Fireworks on Letna will begin symbolically at 19:18. Prague bridges – most Legií, Čechův most, Mánesův most, Charles Bridge or embankments – Smetanovo nábřeží, Dvořákovo nábřeží are the best for watching, as well as Petřín hill and Letná itself. Outside the center a popular place is the hillside in Rieger’s Orchards or the hill in Vítkov.

What are the events people should not miss? 

On October 28th there will be the official re-opening of the National Museum with video-mapping on the façade of the building. There will be all-day concerts taking place simultaneously on several stages in Prague. Another big focus of interest will be in Evropská street and Dejvická street where people will be able to see a military parade, there will be a stage on Náměstí republiky with festivities organized by the Czech Tourists Club, a pop music concert on Old Town Square featuring Czech and Slovak musicians and there will also be a stage on Wenceslas Square where there will be a video-mapping.
