All of the patients are expected to make a full recovery. At least 22 people were taken to the hospital in Liberec on Sunday after lightning hit a tree. All of the patients, which included at least nine children, are in stable condition and many have already been discharged from the hospital. One woman was sent to the ICU suffering from minor burns and trouble moving her limbs, but a spokesperson told CT24 her condition is improving. The originally announced 18 casualties, some of whom had to be resuscitated by paramedics on the spot, suffered injuries ranging from severe to light. Three other people were later admitted to hospital on the recommendation of medical professionals and one more injured person, in addition to the originally announced 18, was taken to hospital by ambulance. Czech police arrested four foreign nationals for attacking a group of Ukrainian activists in Prague on June 1. “In connection with Saturday’s [June 1] incident at Old Town Square, police arrested four foreigners at Prague airport,” the police announced via Twitter on June 3. The Vltava River in Prague has reached the first level of flood activity today due to heavy rains. As a result, the flood gates at Čertovka and parts of the embankments are being closed. Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air will launch a direct flight between Prague and the Bulgarian resort city of Varna. The new airline service will start operating on 1 August 2024, as announced in a press release. An Airbus A321 aircraft, with a capacity of 230 passengers, will be put on the route. The Festival of Microbreweries at Prague Castle is an annually event taking place in the beautiful premises of the Royal Garden of Prague Castle, on Střelecka cesta below the Royal Summer Palace. Microbreweries are the waters of life and a modern phenomenon of brewing skills. Twenty-five years ago there only existed one microbrewery in the Czech Republic, the brewery U Fleků; today there are approximately 170. The organizer is the Czech-Moravian Association of Microbreweries, which aims to present to the public the production of microbreweries from all over the Czech Republic. The season of free music concerts at the beautiful Valdštejnská zahrada (Wallenstein Garden) in Prague continues. The events are organized by the Senate of the Czech Republic. Entrance is free. The concerts are held every week, with the starting time always the same – 17:00. The concert schedule for June is as follows: The garden was created at the same time as the Wallenstein Palace in the early 17th century, in the lower part of the Malá Strana District. It displays a fine example of Mannerist layout and decoration, with very diverse sections. Prague’s metro will operate more frequently in the evenings. The city’s public transport company has reduced intervals from 10 to 7.5 minutes. On both weekdays and weekends, between 9 pm and 10 pm, all lines will permanently reduce their intervals to 7.5 minutes from the current ten minutes. Sparta Prague football club will leave Letná after over 100 years to build a new home in Strahov by 2035. This move marks a significant change for the club. The General Assembly of the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FAČR) took a major step towards this change.
