Tábor is an easy day trip from Prague (by train or by bus), and it is a fascinating journey into times past. The city was founded as a commune in 1420, when the Hussite Wars were in full and brutal swing. Two Hussites, Jan Bydlínský of Bydlín and Petr Hromádka of Jistebnice, were the co-founders. The hill of Vítkov today provides a suggestive panorama of Prague and is particularly known for hosting one of the largest equestrian statues in the world, that of the Hussite leader Jan Žižka. It was here that on 14 July 1420 an important battle took place within the Hussite Wars which saw the armies of the Holy Roman Emperor, Sigismund, opposed the Hussite deployments under the command of Žižka. Deputies from the ANO movement and the Czech Ministry of Health want to amend legislation to prohibit the use of nicotine substitutes in pouches or candies which have been legally available to children for a long time. The products do not contain tobacco, and so under current legislation, they are not among the products that would be restricted as is the case with cigarettes, other tobacco products, or alcohol.
