Cosmetics brand Lookfantastic ranked countries on societal attitudes towards sexuality, taking into account an interest in sexual health. The study analyses monthly Google searches for the following in each country, and produced a ‘sexual wellness score’ to reveal where in the world people are embracing the sexual wellness trend the most. It also examines where men and women are most interested in sexual health, toys, and porn. The Czech Republic falls behind other European countries when it comes to sex positivity, ranking 18th overall. The United States of America comes in at number one as the most sexually aware country. Asides from their major cities searching the most for ‘sexual wellness’, their sexual wellness score was also ramped up by their avid use of OnlyFans. The UK beat its European neighbors (Italy, Spain, and Germany), and France has Paris to thank for ranking in the top 10. The Prague City Hall will have to deal with the ban of horse-drawn carriages in the city center and are setting up an expert group to assess whether these will be banned permanently in the future. This has been ongoing in the town council since last December- and there are regulations which will be introduced at the beginning of 2023 which abolish all horse-drawn carriages in the Old Town Square. This decision was criticised by opposition representatives. They criticised the way in which the councilors approved of the change- they did this by changing the market rules which bypassed the termination of the agreement to the fiakrists. Ondřej Prokop, on the opposition, said “a two-year notice period should apply first before a ban is implemented.” The opposition also said that the document which was in favour of the ban was originally submitted directly to the council without prior discussion or deliberation- meaning that it was not done fairly. Hundreds of Czechs massed in Prague’s Wenceslas Square on Sunday, waving flags and chanting slogans against COVID-19 restrictions, even as infections surge. Protesters mainly objected to harsher restrictions for the unvaccinated, including a ban on eating in restaurants. “The state should listen to the people’s demands. Last year, Prague City Tourism introduced the Stay in Prague campaign which encouraged foreign tourists to visit the city. This was done by running digital advertising which was displayed online and in various social media channels. This ran in Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, and even Youtube and received in total 790 million impressions during its running. This ended up generating 8 million visitors to the campaign website. Michaela Henčlová, Brand Management Director of Prague City Tourism said “We targeted thirteen countries for this campaign, mostly in Europe – and data from this campaign show that the trend for those searching for Prague is significantly higher than it was in 2019.” There was an immediate spike in interest for foreigners visiting the city after the campaign started running in October- flight searches to Prague increased by a total of 36% (49% compared to 19% in 2019.) The Czech government approved a change in the validity of the Covid-19 vaccination certificate and several other updates to the current measures. The validity of a Covid-19 vaccination certificate will be extended indefinitely when a person receives a booster dose. This change will take effect on February 15th. Certificates of those who have had two doses will be valid for 270 days. From January 31st, students at higher vocational schools (VOS) will need to undergo regular testing. “The pandemic is developing according to the predictions which the government uses to make its decisions,” said Fiala on Wednesday. “We are continuing to monitor and evaluate the situation and the measures in force. Based on this, we have decided that no one who has had a positive PCR test in the last 30 days needs to be quarantined.” This measure enters into force on January 31st. Doctors treating Covid patients at a Prague hospital have shed their once mandatory protective suits, claiming that bacteria clinging to their sleeves actually increased mortality. Medical staff at the Covid ward of Prague’s General University Hospital now only wear face masks, gloves, and plastic aprons as protective gear, despite the spread of the highly contagious Omicron variant. “We dropped the suits a year ago because they helped the spread of bacteria, viruses and mould among patients, which worsened the overall mortality data,” Martin Balik, chief doctor at the intensive care unit. Previously, doctors and nurses on the ward wore protective suits complete with plastic caps and trousers throughout their shifts. They had to change completely when going to the bathroom or having lunch.
