Sixty percent of people whose deaths are in Czech coronavirus statistics did not die primarily of COVID-19, according to the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (ÚZIS) director Ladislav Dušek. Dušek talked about the ÚZIS findings at a professional conference called “What we know and do not know about COVID-19” organized by Charles University in Prague. His data points out that most of the deceased coronavirus patients suffered from other chronic diseases, which include heart disease, respiratory system issues, or diabetes. The data comes at a time when many at the international level are questioning how many are truly dying from coronavirus and how many are dying from underlying diseases. The question is especially important in regard to determining when lockdowns in many countries should end. Among the 317 people who died with coronavirus in the Czech Republic, there were 185 men and 132 women. One-third of all deaths were among people over 85 years of age and another more than a third of deaths in the 75 to 84 age group. The economic situation of Czech companies is deteriorating as an impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, with 70% reporting a drop in orders in May and June, twice as many as in April shows a survey carried out by the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic among 242 companies in May. A Czech publisher has come under fire after producing a “Personalities of the Third Reich” calendar, featuring a dozen leading Nazis, including Hitler, Himmler, and Heydrich. Both the Israeli and German embassies in Prague have condemned the 2021 calendar, which contains 12 black and white portraits. Jan Hamacek, the Czech interior minister, also attacked the calendar calling it “tacky and immoral”. Published by Naše Vojsko, which says it specializes in publishing materials “on military, historical and technical topics”, the calendar is listed for sale in its website for CZK 499. The chairman of the Holocaust Victims Fund, Michal Klima, has filed a criminal complaint against the publication of the calendar. The Czech Republic will be one of the first European countries with which Georgia will resume tourist traffic, said Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Natia Turnava, reports Georgian media.
