The new month brings lots of new and amazing events to Prague! Check out our selection of the 8 best events taking place in March.

1. Festival of Delicate Flavours

Do you like food festivals? This Sunday in March, the Festival of Delicate Tastes will take place at the New Town Hall. On 17 March, traditional and non-traditional dishes from different parts of the world will be waiting for you there, as well as an offer of coffee, delicious wines and other drinks.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes such as Belgian fries, sweet churros, pork buns, curries, homemade bacon, sausages, jams and wine. 2. Soup Festival

We recommend to visit Smíchovská náplavka on Saturday 2 March 2024, where another year of the popular Polívkování event will take place.

You will be warmed not only by traditional soups such as potato soup, kulajda, cabbage soup, lentil soup, pumpkin soup, dumpling soup, or honest broths but also soups from all over the world, such as Russian borscht, Mexican chips, Malaysian laksa, French bouillabaisse, Vietnamese pho, Moroccan harira or the increasingly popular Japanese ramen. For vegetarians or vegans, there will be a wide selection of vegetable creams and legume soups.

3. Easter Markets

An inseparable part of spring is Easter and so are the markets where you can celebrate this beautiful tradition. From March to April, Prague will also celebrate Easter at various places such as Old Town Square, Václavské náměstí, Náměstí Republiky, Náměstí Míru or Prague Castle.

Visitors may look forward to folk music, several demonstrations of folk crafts, art workshops for children as well as to many traditional Easter specialties hand-painted Easter eggs, Easter bunnies and chicks, pomlázky, Easter pastries – mazance, lambs, Easter decorations, candles, handicrafts, and wooden toys.

4. The Lord of the Rings in Concert

There’s probably no one who doesn’t know The Lord of the Rings – either the books or the movies. The epic music that accompanied the second part of this popular trilogy, The Two Towers, will be performed in a spectacular projection accompanied by 230 members of the symphony orchestra, choir, and international soloists on 22 and 23 March 2024 at the O2 universum in Prague.

The film will be screened in English with Czech subtitles. Each performance is guaranteed to be an unforgettable artistic experience.

5. Coffee Festival

We also have a great event for all coffee lovers. The annual Barista of the Year – Coffee festival, national barista championship, will take place this year on March 15th and 16th at a new venue, as the event will be bigger than ever before – in the Královka sports hall in Prague Letná.

You will have the opportunity to see the best of the best in the Barista and Latte Art categories. In addition, you can enjoy delicious coffee, listen to interesting lectures and get to know the Czech coffee community.
