Public transport in the Czech Republic will be greatly reduced on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
On 31st December 2018, metro runs a normal service, extended until 02:30 with the interval of 10 minutes. Trams run a normal service during the day until 20:00. From 20:00-07:00 night trams run in 20-minute intervals.
The Funicular Railway at Petrin operates 09:00-22:00.
On January 1st, 2019, metro and trams run a Sunday service: metro trains in 6-8 minute intervals plus regular trams. The Funicular Railway at Petrin operates a normal service.
From 4 pm to 6.30 pm following roads will be closed for cars:
- Dvořákovo nábř. in the section Štefánikův most – nám. Jana Palacha
- nábř. Edvarda Beneše in the section Klárov – Štefánikův most
- Čechův most, Mánesův most, Štefánikův most, most Legií
- Pařížská in the section ul. Bílkova – nám. Curieových
- 17. listopadu in the section nám. Jana Palacha – nám. Curieových
Tram service on Mánesův and Čechův most, and right-hand traffic from the National Theater to náměstí Curieových, will be interrupted at 5:30 pm.
