Facing growing passenger and freight traffic with limited options to increase capacity, the Czech Republic is turning to the development of new high-speed lines as a way to improve connectivity across the country. Around 100 people gathered in the center of Prague on Friday to show support for outgoing U.S. President Donald Trump as the U.S. Capitol was occupied by pro-Trump rioters. Participants gathered at 2 pm at Wenceslas Square and marched to the US embassy where they rallied until 5 pm. In addition to supporting the president, they expressed their opposition to anti-epidemic measures in the Czech Republic. The protesters marched through Prague under the supervision of about two dozen police officers. Many protesters did not wear masks or adhere to distancing measures. Homeless Migration is a documentary focused on the life of Carlos Davis Reséndiz and his friends living in Prague. Carlos is better known as “The Red Tiger of Sonora”. The documentary is directed by Carlos Casasola, a professional photographer from Mexico. Prague police are looking for a Czech man who stole 30 packs of condoms, 29 tubes of lubricant, three vibration rings, and an electric nail file from a store. The total amount of merchandise stolen is estimated at over 20,000 CZK. The stealing took place in the Jižní Město residential area back in mid-December. E-shop revenues in the Czech Republic rose by 26% year-on-year to a record 196 billion CZK in 2020. The share of online rose to over 16% of the total retail sales. The number of online shops has grown by 3.5% y/y in 2019. Electronics, cosmetics, and clothing represented the largest share of turnover. “We expect that this year the amount of money spent in e-shops will be slightly higher again,” said Shoptet CEO Miroslav Udan, CNA quoted. “The 16% share in total retail is a great success because online stores have managed the hectic period well.
