No purchase is needed, no talks about their products – Vape House is just a place where people can feel welcome. They are open and give away coffee and tea every day. So, you can just come by to get a cup of hot tea or coffee for free and enjoy your day. Due to many requests from the local community, the shop at Cimburkova 3, Žizkov has changed their working hours. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday the shop is open from 8.00 a.m. to 19.00 p.m. to provide free coffee and tea in the mornings. “Only through kindness and goodwill we are able to get past the COVID crisis and step by step come back to normal life, let’s start with a free cup of coffee, tea, and a smile,” says Chris from Vape House. “Soon we are opening another shop in Prague as we understand how it is great to stop smoking and we can show how to do that. You can now take a closer look at one of those unnerving animal-like robots you might have seen on the web at Alza in Prague. In Prague’s Holešovice recently opened to the public the first craft gin distillery, called Garage22. The gin is handmade and distilled in small batches, while hops add a unique local characteristic that gives the gin a distinctive and delicious taste. “Tonic has been our first product on the market. It is a natural essence, a handmade extract from the bark of cinchona trees, fresh citrus, and carefully selected herbs and spices. It is an excellent base for mixing cocktails, especially the classic Gin&Tonic, which we just love! As of Wednesday, December 16, members of the public will be able to get an antigen test for Covid-19 for free at one of the 2,000 testing sites around the country. 1) What is an antigen test? An antigen test looks for the protein in the novel coronavirus, as opposed to PCR tests, which detect the virus’s genetic material. The PCR – or polymerase chain reaction – tests are extremely accurate but take time to produce results – usually within 24 to 48 hours. 2) Where can I get tested? Prague is not only one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, but it is also quickly becoming one of the most expensive ones, at least as far as property prices are concerned. The price of new buildings in Prague has risen by 81% in the past six years alone. Not even the current coronavirus crisis has shifted the real estate market and analysts expect the trend of ongoing price growth to perpetuate in the future. The people’s uncertainty regarding the evolution of the current situation alongside the government’s restrictions is conversely contributing to their quest to search for apartments to invest in, while the record-breaking mortgage sales seem to be encouraging them further. According to data provided by Deloitte, the price of new buildings in Prague grew by 81% in the last six years and analysts strongly believe that the lengthy legislative process of construction plays a big role in this. “We, unfortunately, have extremely bad construction regulations, building new apartments takes very long, and this leads to inadequate response from the supply side of the real estate market. Depot.Bike, Prague’s first cycle depot, was ceremoniously opened in November. The depot, located in the Florenc section of the city, will facilitate the delivery of goods throughout the city center by cargo bike, and forms part of the city’s plan to ease the congestion of public space, reduce traffic, and improve the quality of life for city residents. At the opening ceremonies, Adam Scheinherr, Deputy Mayor for Transport, noted: “At the cycle depot on Těšnov Street near Florenc, goods will be transferred from trucks to special e-bikes, and then taken by couriers directly to customers. We’ve planned everything to be just in time for Christmas. The location is easily accessible because it is right under Prague’s arterial road. Prague police are asking for the public’s help in finding six-year-old František Srna. He was on a scout expedition to Čerčany and was last seen Saturday morning on the Hlavní Nádraží train platform. He lives in Chodov, Prague 11 and was dressed in a blue jacket and green hat. “We received the information around half-past nine at the local department at Hlavní Nádraží. Ice skating has a tradition in the Czech Republic and nowadays it’s a very popular social outdoor activity among locals. On Saturday, December 19, one of the most popular ice skating rinks in Prague will reopen to the public. Like last year, the entrance is for free. The ice skating rink is located in the area on Letna plain, near M. Horakove street and in front of Sparta football stadium.
