Czech Republic Not to Impose COVID Test on Arrivals From China

Travellers from China planning to enter the Czech Republic will not be subject to mandatory Coronavirus test for the time being, the Czech Health Ministry announced. Its spokesman said this was not considered necessary for the time being since there is no direct air link from China, but the decision could be reviewed in the future. On January 4th, the European Union countries agreed to recommend that EU countries introduce a pre-departure testing for all those arriving from China and random testing on-arrival as a preventive measure, following the surge in the number of COVID-19 infections in China. EU countries are also advised to recommend travellers on flights to China and vice versa to wear face masks and also issue advice regarding health measures and personal hygiene. The current epidemiological situation in China has sparked controversies among European countries, while some European countries have decided to introduce travel measures, others do not consider such a decision necessary. Recently authorities in Greece and Switzerland confirmed that they would not impose restrictions for citizens of China despite the surge in the number of COVID-19 infections. Eurowings Expands in Prague After Successful First Year

Eurowings has been connecting Prague non-stop with European metropolises and holiday regions for a year now. Starting with four destinations for the winter flight schedule 21/22, travelers could already choose from 14 different destinations in the summer of 2022. Prague to Have Direct Flights to Florence

Aeroitalia, Italy’s newest private airline venture, is launching a direct air link between Václav Havel Airport Prague and Florence Airport next year. AeroItalia has today announced the launch of 24 direct flights from Florence and Prague was among the destinations. The company expects to start up in the Tuscan airport by basing a Boeing 737-700 — a new type in the airline’s fleet — and a wet-leased ATR 72-600. The company will begin flying between the two cities in summer 2023. The exact schedule is not yet available. Ticket sales have not yet started either. easyJet to Launch New Route Prague-Lisbon

Low-cost airline easyJet is now offering flights for the new route between Lisbon and Prague, the first from the capital to the Czech Republic. The route will have three weekly frequencies – on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays – and will start on March 31, 2023. Alongside this destination, easyJet also announced its new route from Porto to Glasgow, with two weekly flights (Mondays and Fridays), starting March 31, 2023, from Sá Carneiro Airport. Air Cairo to Begin Operating Weekly Flights Between Prague and Marsa Alam

Air Cairo will begin operating two flights per week between Egypt’s Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam and Prague. For the Egyptian carrier Air Cairo, Marsa Alam will become the second destination to which it will fly on regular flights from the Czech Republic. Direct Flights Between Prague and Bilbao Resume After Four Years

Direct flights between Prague and Bilbao will resume after four years. Spanish low-cost airline Vueling will start flying from 2 July 2023. The airline will fly between the cities twice a week – every Thursday and Sunday, using Airbus A320 aircraft for 180 passengers. Tickets are already on sale. Ryanair Launching Two New Routes from Prague

The budget airline Ryanair is planning to increase its number of routes from Prague by two next year, adding the Polish city of Gdańsk and the Greek island of Skiathos in 2023. The Prague-Gdansk flight will start on 29 March. It will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The city is located on the shores of the Baltic Sea, and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tickets are on sale now. This New Night Train Will Take you From Prague to Germany and Switzerland

Czech national rail operator ČD is reviving a sleeper route between some of central Europe’s most fascinating cultural hotspots. Europe’s train revival is one of the most exciting shake-ups to travel on the continent in decades. From new mega-cheap high-speed routes to an increasingly huge night train network, Europe is showing that trains are an affordable, convenient and environmentally-friendly alternative to air travel. And now another rail company is getting in on the act. The Czech Republic’s national rail operator Czech Railways (České dráhy or ČD) has announced a new sleeper service that will go from Prague to the Swiss city of Zurich via Dresden, Leipzig, Frankfurt am Main and Basel. The new service will be called the ‘Canopus’ train and it’ll be a collaborative project with the national rail providers of Austria (ÖBB), Switzerland (SBB) and Germany (DB). Delta Air Lines to Resume Non-Stop Flights From Prague to New York

Delta Air Lines, American air carrier, is going to resume its direct flights from Prague to New York, JFK Airport, effective 8 May 2023. The operation of these flights will be extended until 28 October. Throughout the summer flight schedule, the airline plans to operate the route up to seven times a week using Boeing 767-300 aircraft. “The resumption of direct flights to New York is excellent news primarily for Czech passengers.
