Foreigners studying or doing business who have decided to plan their future in the capital of the Czech Republic now have an exceptional opportunity to make their adaptation to the new city much easier. Following the example of other European capital cities, the Expat Center will be available to them in Prague as well.
The representatives of the Prague City municipality presented the project on Wednesday 15 January 2020 at the grand opening.
Valuable information, contacts, educational events, consultations and assistance to counter the diverse situations and problems that life in a new country brings – all this can be found in the Expat Center of Prague. The project also offers the opportunity to meet and exchange experiences with other foreigners who are already living in Prague. All for free.
“Probably anyone who has ever studied or worked abroad knows how difficult the first steps in an unfamiliar environment are and how valuable any help is. That’s why there are Expat centers. I am very happy that Prague now has one of its own. Let this unique project also be a friendly guide, and support that will make foreigners feel at home,” said Vít Šimral, City Councilor of Prague.
On Wednesday, January 15, 2020, the Expat Center Prague was inaugurated at its headquarters in the Škoda Palace in Jungmannova street. The grand opening of this center was supported by famous personalities from the world of business and show business such as Martin Barry, Tonya Graves or Mattijs Maussen. “I have lived in Prague for four years now and it’s a city that I fell in love with. The new Expat Center is a commendable step towards navigating the often confusing grounding of foreigners in a new country. This center can provide useful services to anyone entering the city – a process that can be frightening and disorienting,” says the successful businessman and founder of Manifesto Market and reSITE Martin Barry.
The Expat Center Prague builds on projects that have been successfully operating throughout Europe. All the information is already available on the website expat.praha.eu
