Katarze is pleased to present a one day, multi-sensory, immersive pop-up at Břevnov Monastery on August 22nd. The monastery at Břevnov, the first friary in Bohemia, was established by Boleslav II and St. Vojtěch on the 14th January 993. In alignment with the event organizers’ special vision to bring awareness and respect to historical buildings in the Czech Republic, the Břevnov Monastery is the perfect match. The wing house of the monastery will be prepared with collections of international artists: Jan Dostál, Oscar Negret, Karolína Vorlíková, Sonya The Moon, Michal Motyčka, and Martin Krupa. Along with Prague-based DJ Teresi, organizers prepared a full set of artists from Hamburg: ClapCodex, Sarah Fawkes, Hans Hammer and Nina Hepburn. The mind behind this event is Katarze, a name that comes from the Greek word Katharsis, which means purification, cleansing, or clarification. The aim is to share love, inspiration, and respect for music, leading to the purification of emotions through art or the change in feelings to renewal and restoration. A new study has ranked 35 countries, using six different categories, to discern which are the best for raising a family. The Czech Republic ranks 10th overall, behind Belgium, Austria and Germany. Where is the best place to raise a family? A new study by the travel and family journalism company Asher & Lyric has ranked 35 OECD countries on how good they are to raise families in. Their “Raising a Family Index” is based on six different categories: Safety, Happiness, Cost, Health, Education and Time. Each category is made up of five different criteria, with data taken from several internationally renowned sources. The Czech Republic ranks 10th overall, garnering high scores across all five categories. It ranked particularly highly for the safety level (A), while it reported its lowest score for happiness (D), recording one of the ranking’s lowest scores in that category. It scored B in all other fields. Mexico and the United States received the lowest rankings in the index—the only two countries to receive ‘F’ grades overall. Czech Airlines have recently announced new dates for this special tourist service, targeting local citizens aiming to help them rediscover their own capital. A series of adventure flights will take a small number of passengers on a sightseeing flight above Prague. The tickets cost CZK 1,490. On the occasion of the opening of Runway Park, Czech Airlines has prepared a series of sightseeing flights over Prague at low altitude. The first flights will take place on Saturday, July 11 at 14:00 and on Sunday, July 12 at 10:00. In case of great interest, CSA will organize flights on other dates. Flights will be carried out by an ATR 72 turboprop aircraft with a capacity of 70 seats. The flight will last about 30-40 minutes. The plane will fly over Prague, Křívoklat, Točnik, Karlštejn, and Český Šternberk castles. The altitude will reach 800 meters. Passengers can choose a seat on board for free and register online on the flight 36 hours before departure. The ticket price is 1490 CZK, including all fees and taxes.
