For the first time in history, winter holiday ski charters to the Turkish resort of Kayseri will be offered. According to Jiří Vyskoč, Aviation Business Development Executive Director, the winter flight schedule is in line with the strategy of resuming and increasing frequencies. “Thanks to this trend, we already handled over 11 million passengers by mid-October, and we believe that the new connections will propel further growth. We assume that by 2026 we will be able to return to the pre-Covid-19 figures. The increases during the winter season should also contribute and help us handle more than 15 million passengers next year.” The development of the conflict in Ukraine will also play its part. Prague Airport is currently missing 14 destinations from Russia and Ukraine, amounting to 10 percent of...

Following the successful launch of the Brussels – Amsterdam – Berlin night train in May 2023, European Sleeper will extend this route to Dresden and Prague from 25 March 2024. The train will then connect four European capitals and even Paris and London are well connected with a single transfer in Brussels. On the way through Saxon Switzerland and the Elbe Valley, the train stops in both Germany and the Czech Republic: in Bad Schandau, Décin and Usti nad Labem. The Dutch-Belgian night train operator European Sleeper aims to contribute to a more integrated and sustainable European transportation network. A night train is significantly more sustainable than other modes of travel and produces (for example) 28 times less greenhouse gas emissions than flying. Another major advantage of a night train is that passengers are travelling efficiently while asleep, reducing long distances to just a night’s journey. The service to Dresden and Prague was postponed in 2023 due to track works between Dresden and the Czech Republic. For 2024, European Sleeper has been allocated an attractive timetable, in which the arrival and departure times of the various stops are well balanced. In parallel, European Sleeper is preparing the acquisition of refurbished...

The Neo-Renaissance Stránov Château is situated in the village of Jizerní Vtelno near Mladá Boleslav in Central Bohemia. However, the interiors and exteriors are currently undergoing partial reconstructions. You can take a guided tour through the château interiors or climb up the Gothic castle tower with a beautiful view of the River Jizera valley. The original castle was built between 1463 and 1468 by Jaroš of Svojovice. The period is represented by the well-preserved distinctive stone tower. At that time, the castle was the centre of a relatively large property that was in the 2nd half of the 16th century in the possession of the Berka family from Dubá. It was at that time that the original castle was completely changed – rebuilt in the Renaissance style: the renovation was completed at the beginning of the 17th century. The last stage of the renovation, in the late Renaissance style, was carried out on the order of Vilém Slavata of Chlum. The look of the chateau was then maintained until the mid 18th century, when (in 1746) the family of Příchovský from Příchovice took the assets into their possession. In 1767, Jan Příchovský had a new church built on the premises...
