Do you like cider? Taste more than 100 varieties at the Cider Festival on the weekend of September 16 and 17. If you have only tasted “supermarket ciders” and remebrer them as alcoholic “soft drinks” full of chemicals, you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The sixth edition of the festival will take place at the Radlická kulturní sportovna near Anděl metro station, where, in addition to craft ciders, cidras and lemonades by small and local manufacturers from all over the country and abroad, you can also look forward to good food and a fun accompanying program for the whole family. The idea behind organizing this event is to bring together and support dedicated cider producers who often don’t make it beyond their own region and present their beverages to the broader public. As you walk around the festival, you can chat with cider makers who love to share how they make their cider. You’ll learn about the steps behind each batch and even join in workshops to see the process up close. Pre-sale tickets here A few words about cider’s history… The first recorded reference to cider dates back to the Roman Empire. The story goes that the first Romans arriving in...

The Miners, the largest specialty coffee chain in the Czech Republic, launched their first-of-its-kind Miners Bakery in Karlin in late June 2023. Intrigued by this unique concept, we couldn’t wait to explore it. Entering the coffee shop, you can see the most significant difference between the spot — the open kitchen. Egor Kolpakov, Miners CEO, says that transparency is the main point of such interior decisions. Although, you can spot the similar format of the Miners roastery, found on the DOCK facility. Transparency is the key element of the Miners, Egor says. [”This story is about the transparency overall… I have never seen a business in Czechia where you can find, for instance, an owner-made Telegram channel, where all the insights can be found…”] Raising the trust among the customers helps to maintain sustainable and long-running business, Egor adds. As before, you can find Miners-made production on-site, such as nitro coffee and compostable coffee capsules. Besides, at Miners Karlin, you can find branded reusable coffee bamboo cups, which became an expansion of their merch. Another important aspect Miners Karlin will be dealing with is fresh baked goods delivery across all our facilities, Egor says. While other cafés will be closed,...

Originally it was supposed to be a one-off event. But when the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand opened the garden of her residence to the public for the first time in 2019, the interest was unexpectedly high and a tradition was born. People came to Pod Hradbami Street in Prague 6 to taste Thai specialties prepared by the ambassador’s personal chef, sip Thai Singha beer and listen to Thai music. Or indulge in a traditional massage, buy souvenirs and learn about travelling in Thailand. This year, the event will be held under the auspices of H.E. Phasporn Sangasubana, in cooperation with the Thai Business Centre in Prague and the Prague office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand on Saturday, July 15 from 2pm to 6pm. The programme remains similar to the previous editions: entry is free and the garden of the residence can only be accessed from Milady Horákové Street near the Prašný Most public transport stop. Due to the enormous interest in previous years, the organizers point out that the number of participants is limited and will be held in the spirit of the motto: “First come, first served.” Just visiting the garden of the residence (near which...
